Regarding the handling of personal information

Taisei Co., Ltd. (below, Taisei) recognizes that corporations have an important social responsibility to manage personal information appropriately and to lawfully handle personally identifiable information such as names, addresses, and phone numbers. To that end, Taisei complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws and regulations, as well as the guidelines of the Personal Information Protection Committee (below, the applicable laws and guidelines). Taisei has established the following policies regarding the protection of personal information.

1.Regarding the handling of personal information

As well as keeping executives and employees informed about the importance of protecting personal information, Taisei has established management systems to protect personal information.
To manage personal information appropriately, Taisei has established rules for managing the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information.

2.Collecting Personal Information

When collecting personal information, Taisei divulges or identifies the purposes of use, and collects the information by lawful and fair means to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use.
The personal information collected by Taisei is defined as personal information provided by individuals associated with the company, and personal information collected by Taisei or provided by third parties (including personal information contained in audio, images, video, etc.).

When contacting the consultation services outlined below under 7. Consultation, the conversations may be recorded to confirm the content of the inquiry. Please be aware that Taisei may also use caller ID displays to return calls from individuals who have made inquiries.

3.Handling Personal Information

(1)Using personal information

Personal information collected in accordance with 2. Collecting Personal Information is not used beyond the scope of the purposes of use without the consent of the person concerned. Taisei respects the rights concerning personal information and will respond in good faith and within the provisions of the law when requested to disclose, correct, stop using, or delete personal information. The personal information collected by Taisei is used for the purposes outlined below. We also adopt and maintain necessary measures to prevent any unintended use of the information.

1) To provide business information about the services and products provided by Taisei.
2) To conduct questionnaire surveys for the purpose of service and product planning, research and development, and quality improvement, as well as improving customer satisfaction.
3) To provide users of our services and products with the following personal information as part of the services and products.
* Personal information provided: Images and videos of individuals from security cameras or other cameras for business use.
4) To perform any necessary tasks in order to respond to inquiries and to provide prompt service.
5) To act based on laws and regulations or notifications and instructions from administrative authorities.
When advice is provided through an agency, please note that personal information is passed to the agency.
6) If an inquiry is received by our consultation service (see 7. Consultation), the following personal information is passed to agencies by telephone, in writing, or by electronic means when necessary to provide an appropriate response.
However, we will stop providing information to agencies at the request of the individual.

(2)Managing personal information securely

Taisei has taken appropriate steps to establish internal rules, systems of responsibility, and other organizational, physical, and technical safety management measures to safely manage personal information and to prevent risks such as loss, disclosure, destruction, damage, or falsification etc. of personal information, or unauthorized access to personal information.
Taisei has also adopted appropriate human resources safety controls including educating and raising awareness of personal information protection among the executives and employees who handle personal information.

(3)Disclosing personal information to third parties

Except as permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other related laws and regulations, Taisei does not disclose personal information collected according to the provisions outlined in 2. Collecting Personal Information to third parties without the consent of the individual concerned.
Specific personal information is not disclosed to third parties even with the consent of the individual.

(4) Managing and supervising subcontractors handling personal information

Taisei may disclose personal information collected according to the provisions outlined in 2. Collecting Personal Information to subcontractors to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use that have been identified and divulged.
In such cases, Taisei manages and supervises the subcontractors appropriately, who are required to handle the disclosed personal information in appropriate ways.

4.Handling Personal Information on the Corporate Website

(1)About Cookies

A Cookie is information sent from the web server to the customer’s web browser to facilitate the use of the website.
When customers use the website, Taisei Co., Ltd. may use Cookies for the purpose of collecting information about interactions with the website and attributes of the individual accessing the website.
Customers may change their browser settings to refuse Cookies, but please note that this may disable all or some of the services on the website.

(2)Cookies and collecting non-personally identifiable information

When users access websites that use our services, Taisei may obtain information about interactions with the websites and information about attributes. By combining these data, it is possible to identify individual users, but Taisei does not re-identify individuals even though it is possible to do so based on the data we collect.

(3)Personal information collected on the corporate website

Taisei may collect personal information such as your name, e-mail address, and company affiliation when providing services or answering requests for information materials. Users may refuse to allow Taisei to collect personal information, but if the proper personal information is not provided, users will not be able to access the appropriate services.

(5)Embedded content from other websites

Embedded content (videos, images, posts etc.) is included on the Taisei website. Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor is on the site in question. These sites may collect your data, use Cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with embedded content. If you log into the site using your account, your interactions with the embedded content are also tracked.

5.Measures in Case of Incidents

In case of incidents involving the disclosure of personal information, Taisei will take appropriate action such as investigating the facts and causes, and implementing measures to prevent secondary damage and recurrence.

Taisei may revise this policy at its own discretion. However, if the procedures necessary for revision are stipulated by applicable laws and regulations or guidelines, the revisions will be introduced based on such laws and regulations or guidelines.
